Back on the streets.

Post by Ben » Tue Apr 02, 2019 2:40 am

Finally driving the wagon again. Had a gross gremlin eBay pressure plate that kept her off the road for over a year. Before that it wasn't running. My neighbor rebuilt/cleaned the bottom end and I purchased a new Delta Cams 260 re-grind that a machine shop installed and adjusted the valves for. Bought a new cheap ebay clutch and pressure plate and realized it was just the pressure plate causing issues before. Shifts like butter now with a cheapo stage 2 clutch and 10.2 pound flywheel. I have basically the same set up on my Integra and have used and abused it for 7,000 miles and it still grips and pulls hard. I think it will last a long time. I think the key to cheap ebay clutches is get one with a HP rating much higher than you plan to go. I just have intake, header, and a more aggressive cam so I am definately under the 280 or 300 HP rating on the clutch I bought.

I also found an equally faded same color fender for cheap. My neighbor threw it on for free when he put in the new clutch. I had to buy a whole new set of Depo headlights (well, actually some dirt bag's insurance had to buy) just to replace the corner lens. I guess its good I have replacement headlights if they ever become hard to obtain.

Waiting to break in clutch and motor to see how everything feels. Goes good up to 3k RPMs before I baby shift it though. I need to solve a vibrating "top of the line" NAPA axle that sucks on lowered cars. Sounds like I need oem Honda axle's for as low as I am. And my interior needs to be replaced. I am on the hunt for leather. Some day a paint job. I kinda like the faded Grandma gold look for now though. I just got a K&N oil filter, waiting to hit 500 miles, change the oil, seat the rings, un-plug the battery and make the ECU re-learn how Bad-Ben drives, because it will be corrupted by 500 miles of Good-Ben.

Hmmm. I tried to attach a pic (its been a while since I have on here) and it said "the board reached its limits of attachments". Hopefully I am doing it wrong and figure it out.

Social media is playing ALL accord forums, like an old 8 track tape . You can hear the echo when the pin drops, sad ..some still lurk though.

Thanks guys. Glad to see you around. Hopefully you guys post more. I've only been here for a few years, but when I started there were posts every day. And social media was big then too.
