Hello from NM

Postby eastmtmike » June 29th, 2017 02:48 PM

Howdy - Mike from the East Mountains of New Mexico. I have a white 1997 lx I bought from my mother in law a few years back. It was garage kept its whole life so it's in darn good shape. It has about 120K on the original bone stock F22B2. I've been seriously considering the H23a VTEC swap for this car, but there's so much conflicting information around it's making my head spin. Maybe I'll go FI on the stocker? I'd like to do the 5 speed swap at the same time. My plan is to keep the car as stock looking as possible. I'm sure that will change soon after the swap though having seen some of the cars on here.

It's painfully slow. My dd is a modified diesel truck so I'm used to gobs of torque. I'm leaning more and more to turboing the f22, just need to get a couple of toys paid off first!

Welcome. That motor can make some power with a turbo. It all depends what you wanna do. Post some pics and let us know what you do to it. Hopefully it will bring back the interest of some of the guys who have been around a while, but don't seem to post here any more.
