If you haven't figured this out yet, A/C can really only be properly seviced by a shop with the proper equipment. We are supposed to be EPA certified in A/C repair and refrigerant containment procedures.

On my friends wagon he had the same problem, and the problem was that the knob was broken, so when he tried to put it on cold the knob said so but the pin under remained on hot.

had the same problem with my civic Si a few years ago. usually the expansion valve on the compressor. However, those do not break unless there is a problem somewhere else. i went through the enter AC system before i found it was the condenser. However, it could easily be a problem with the compressor, reciever dryer, etc.

It might even be seals itself. best bet it to take it to a shop that has black light dye and the can tell you exactly where the leak is and even do a pressure test on the system. I am not one for taking to the shop when you can do it yourself, but this one is a little involved and parts are not cheap to replace on a "hunch". :)

I say seals. I also say a/c robs your car of horses. Be a baller.

Awhile ago, an episode on Myth Busters proved that an A/C does not remove HP from an engine.
