What's it for?

Postby SilverShadow » February 9th, 2011 03:45 AM

Got my car cleaned and the guy bumped off curved plastic panel on front passengers' side way in corner. I saw a white (not green) connector fastened to the side body. What is it for?

Do I need to post a picture, cause I've gotten no responses. It looks like it could be a test plug? I've done code checks before and that connector is green and mostly under glove ...this is fastened to right body side.

Picture would help + the wire colors (main/stripe, ie. Red with white stripe) and the number of wires.

I'll remove the panel, take a picture, and post it tomorrow.

That's G402 (ground distribution connector). It brings the ground for things like the "Radio", "Glove Box light" "Horn" etc. to a common point. There are approximately 18 such connectors in a 4th Gen wagon. Honda identifies it as a "Clear body connector" (as opposed to Gray or White or Yellow).

I'm certain it's a "don't mess with it" item. Right?

It's a "Ground" connection. No big deal but things tend not to run properly unless well grounded.

That's pretty awesome. I never knew about those grounding points.
