Car I'm looking at buying 1HGCE1894VA001890 97 EX wagon, 1890 means at least 1890 were made? I don't understand the CE1 thread that says only made in 1994, this is a 1997? But whats interesting is I did a check and went to a site that has decoding for Honda VINs. (isn't the internet wonderful?)

Decoding says the car isn't an EX Wagon with a manual transmission, it's an automatic?

https://www.decodethis.com/vin/1HGCE1894VA001890

Does this mean someone did an engine/transmission swap?

BTW my current car:

1HGCB9763MA003403 (details in case, but not important - https://www.decodethis.com/vin/1HGCB9763MA003403 )

Yup 1991, 2.2, manual, EX, M=1991, 003403

Yes transmission was definitely swapped. In America at least, that car (EX) only came with an auto. My wagon is a 94 and my vin is low 300's. When I joined here I was trying to see how high members vin went, but unfortunately not enough users to be proof of anything. I think the 1890 is number of Accord wagon ce1's made, not specific to model or transmission, I may be wrong though.

It would definitely be worth looking at if swap was done right. If you are like me and set on VTEC, sunroof and a 5 speed, you better take the first one in nice shape you can find.
